GUILDFORD COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY
Professional and compassionate support for mental health issues including anxiety and depression. Time to explore your life, in your words.
Free 30 minute introductory session.
Hello...I'm glad that you're here because whatever your struggle might be, you now don't have to face it alone.
Even at the best of times, life can be challenging. The demands of modern living can often leave us overwhelmed and emotionally depleted. Relationships may become strained; friendships drift and we start to feel at odds with ourselves. We begin to question our choices and perhaps feel stuck and unable to see a clear way ahead.
Whether this is the first time you’ve thought about counselling or if you’re returning to therapy – talking things through with a counsellor is a brave first step in navigating your way out of confusion and freeing yourself from negative thoughts and feelings.
My name is Hannah and I am a friendly, experienced, humanistic counsellor and psychotherapist working online and in-person from a peaceful garden consultation room in Shalford near Guildford and Godalming that's within easy reach of the surrounding Surrey villages.
You may feel alone with the challenges you face but by finding the courage to speak of what matters to you, difficult and painful feelings can be explored, understood and potentially resolved.
If you are feeling stressed or anxious and finding it hard to cope, counselling can help restore perspective and give you an opportunity to talk openly about how you feel in a confidential and respectful space where:
- You will be listened to and feel supported and accepted.
- You are the focus and your well-being is a priority.
- You can get to know yourself better and feel more grounded.

About me
I have run my own private counselling practice for more than a decade but before training to become a qualified psychotherapist I worked as a press officer for the Alzheimer's Society and prior to that as a broadcast journalist for the BBC. My professional life has been defined by helping people find their voice and ensuring that they feel heard and understood. It continues to be a privilege to sit with clients who choose me to be their therapist as together we embrace the many challenges life throws our way.
Area of Specialism
I have also worked for several years as a volunteer counsellor for the Fountain Centre charity at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, supporting people whose lives have been affected by cancer. This experience has led to a special interest in grief and loss related issues and the struggle individuals face in coming to terms with a life that's been interupted by ill-health.
